The AP reported that former TMZ photographer Ricardo Mendoza filed a civil lawsuit today against Britney Spears, claiming assault and battery stemming from an incident in which the singer accidentally ran over his foot in Beverly Hills in October 2007.
The accident happened two hours after Spears learned she had lost custody of her children.
In the intervening time, Mendoza auctioned off his tire-stained sock. Spears' lawyers declined to comment about the case when contacted by EW.
I don't think Britney Spears is out to hurt anyone. She wasn't in the right frame of mind after losing custody of her children and with the paparazzi hot on her heels, she may have unknowingly committed the "assault."
