Sexy mom Jessica Alba was part of the star-studded V-Day Luncheon in Los Angeles to show her support for prevention of violence against girls and women worldwide.
Other celebrities present were Charlize Theron, Rosario Dawson (a board member) and playwright and activist Eve Ensler, who founded the organization.
Jessica Alba told reporters that violence against women is not just something that happens in Third World countries, but even to celebrities in Hollywood. She cited the recent example of singer Rihanna being attacked by her boyfriend Chris Brown.
I am sure a lot of people are shocked by the horrific attack on Rihanna, we simply cannot condone domestic violence. A lot of women are reluctant to speak out against verbal and physical abuse for fear of more violence from their spouse and social stigma. The situation usually comes to light when life-threatening injuries are sustained.
Jessica Alba has the courage to touch on a sensitive issue which is prevalent everywhere, even in rich and famous Hollywood couples.
Go girl, you have our support!
